Dead Easy (TV)

For Simon Storm (Richard Grieco), head of the successful advertising agency Brain Storm, the nightmare started the day he hired private detective Frank Strathman to investigate his wife's infidelity. Even though the confirmation of his wife's affairs is very painful to accept, Simon knows it will free him to be with the woman he has grown to love - Kate Johnston (Thandi Puren). Simon confronts his wife Teresa (Joanna Pacula), with the evidence, and despite Teresa's pleadings for a second chance, Simon insists on divorce. But Teresa is determined to keep the marriage afloat at any cost, threatening Simon with release of a video tape she anonymously received that shows Simon and Kate making love - even if the resulting scandal means ruining a pending multi-million dollar buy-out of his company. Meanwhile, Kate threatens Simon to end their affair if he doesn't get rid of his wife. He tells her he can't, not without losing everything he's worked for; but Kate's mind is made up: Simon must now choose between her or his wife. Desperate, and on an alcohol-fuelled binge, Simon calls Strathman and asks him to help resolve the problem with his wife. The next morning, Teresa is nowhere to be found. Remorseful and in a panic, Simon confesses to Kate his fear that Teresa might be dead. In order to maintain appearances, Kate induces Simon to go to the police and report his wife missing. When Detective Bud Klein begins the investigation, he grows quickly suspicious of Simon. Everything starts to spiral out of control for Simon when Strathman contacts him for the rest of th agreed upon money: pay up or a recording of their compromising conversation will make its way to the police. While investigated by the police, Simon will learn that nothing is as it seems in this deadly dance, & that his wife Teresa might just be alive. As he wonders who is pulling the strings in this game of life and death, he realizes that discovering the truth will be anything but "dead easy!"
