I Was on Mars (1991) follows the journey of Silva, a determined woman who leaves her home in Poland to pursue her dreams in the United States. With limited funds and no command of the English language, she lands in New York City. Her initial excitement is dampened when she encounters a charismatic con artist named Avi, who swiftly takes all her money. Undeterred by this setback, Silva embarks on a relentless pursuit to track down Avi, determined to reclaim what is rightfully hers.
