President Fujimori's government is on its way out, and the citizens of Peru are struggling to get by, often engaging in unscrupulous means to get ahead--or just to make a buck. Rafo (Fabrizio Aguilar) is a struggling filmmaker who supports his girlfriend Laura (Mari Pili Barreda). He encounters a Spanish con artist played by Fernando Cayo; posing as an executive for a major phone company, the Spaniard draws Rafo into an elaborate scam. Rafo is just one of many players in this game, drawn by a master criminal from all walks of life to participate. Each member of the group, intent on increasing his or her own share, begins to plot against the others in a complex game of deception. Alberto 'Chicho' Durant (OJOS DE PERRO, CORAJE) directs an engaging film that captures the anxiety and fear that swept the nation during this time, as well as the web of lies and betrayal such fear can engender.
