Heliopolis

Heliopolis invites the viewer into the lives of five different characters in the span of time between the sunset and late night, in Heliopolis, a unique neighbourhood in Cairo, where different churches, mosques, synagogues and ethnic restaurants stand quietly side by side on the same street. Each is trying to resolve a conundrum, however, none succeeds and they will have to try again when the sun rises anew. As their paths cross, they are oblivious to one another, but they discover the neighbourhood’s beauty and its glamorous past that fades day after day, in the heart of an overpopulated metropolis.
