Reggie, a naive and optimistic border terrier to the core, ends up abandoned on the vicious city streets by his owner, Doug, though he's convinced that it was all a misunderstanding and that his beloved life companion would never give up on him like that. But when he encounters a loquacious, foul-mouthed Boston terrier named Bug, a stray dog who loves his freedom and believes that ownership is for losers, Reggie finally realises that he was living in a toxic relationship and begins to see Doug for what he really is: a heartless, despicable, heartless scumbag.
