Spinoza/Ongodist (S)

Spinoza is a film based on the philosopher as a lens maker and as a freethinker ("ongodist"), trying to establish various associations between Spinoza's lens sharpening machine (featured in the Spinoza Museum in Rijnsburg), some everyday objects from his period (also exhibited in the museum), the movie camera as a lens-based machine, an old edition of his Ethica, and a set of sounds recorded on site. As for the sound, an old Kodachrome magnetic material in Super-8 format was used, which was incorporated without processing.
