Same Same But Different (2009) is a poignant film inspired by the real-life experiences of Benjamin Prufer and Sreykeo Solvan. The narrative unfolds as an unpredictable and uncertain love story between Sreykeo, a 21-year-old bar girl in Phnom Penh, and Ben, a young German student embarking on a post-graduation summer adventure in Cambodia. Upon returning to Germany, Ben learns that Sreykeo is ill, prompting him to take on the daunting task of saving her. Throughout his journey, Ben encounters a world where opportunities are not evenly distributed and where people's intentions are not always straightforward.
