The Virginian (1946) is a remake of the classic film starring Gary Cooper. The story unfolds as Molly Woods, a schoolteacher from the East, arrives in Medicine Bow and encounters two cowboys: the carefree Steve and the "Virginian," who initially clashes with her. The Virginian's troubles escalate when he discovers that his old friend Steve is involved with the notorious outlaw Trampas and his gang of cattle rustlers. This leads the Virginian to take charge of a posse to pursue the rustlers, further complicating his relationship with Molly, who disapproves of the violent nature of frontier life.
