During World War II many airmen of the 100th Bombardment Group (the 'Bloody Hundredth') risked their lives conducting dangerous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and dealing with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of fighting at 25,000 feet. Some were shot down and captured; others were wounded or killed. And some were fortunate enough to return home. Regardless of individual fates, all paid a price....
