Le Divorce (2003) follows Isabel Walker (Kate Hudson), a vibrant young woman from California, who travels to Paris to support her pregnant sister, Roxeanne (Naomi Watts). Roxeanne, a poet, has recently been abandoned by her unfaithful husband, Charles-Henri de Persand, leading to an impending divorce. Isabel, meanwhile, finds herself entangled in a passionate affair with a married French diplomat who is also the uncle of Roxeanne's soon-to-be-ex. As the scandal unfolds, the Walker sisters' American optimism and resilience clash with the Persand family's French sophistication and pragmatism. The situation becomes even more complex when a painting in Roxeanne's possession is found to be worth millions. Suddenly, a crime of passion disrupts the ongoing drama, revealing new insights and possibilities for both families.
