Portugal, 1920. Florbela Espanca, a woman ahead of her time and famous poet, gets married for third time after two unsuccessful experiences. To please the new man in her life, tries to behave like a traditional wife. Stop writing, but quickly feel restless and frustrated. When his brother, Apelles flame to Lisbon, runs from its peaceful inner city life to join him. Together, they sail the bohemian side of the capital: alcohol, political rallies, dances and intense mutual attraction. Florbela feels split between two forces: the love of her husband and the excitement that brings Apelles.
