In Marie-Galante, since the time of slavery, sugar cane and sugar have shaped the destiny of men. Today, the workers of Grand Anse dedicate their strength and their hopes to the survival of their sugar factory. Lending their voices, for the duration of a film, to the words of their slave ancestors, they give life to a forgotten memory. Against the erasure of their world, they break the silence of the Negroes.
