Le Pharmacien de garde (The Pharmacist) (2003) follows Yan Lazarrec, a seemingly ordinary pharmacist with a deep commitment to environmental causes. He dedicates his life to creating remedies that benefit humanity and fights against those who pollute the planet. However, his good intentions take a dark turn as he descends into madness. In the seclusion of his laboratory, Lazarrec concocts deadly poisons aimed at eliminating polluters. This transformation turns the eco-warrior and dedicated pharmacist into a serial killer. The plot thickens when François Barrier, the detective assigned to the case, is revealed to be an environmentalist himself, albeit one who advocates for change through peaceful protests and demonstrations.
