In the last decade, Peru has conquered the world with its ingenious, tasty and widely varying gastronomy. Its star dish is ceviche, a preparation of raw fish marinated in lemon, served with aji chillies, camote sweet potatoes, cassava and corn. Travelling along the North Coast of Peru, Amazonia and Lima, this documentary explores the historical, culinary, environmental and socio-political aspects of this dish originally from the shores of the sea, prepared and eaten in Peru, in its ancestral form, since pre-Colombian times.
