Out For a Kill (2003) follows archaeology professor Robert Burns, portrayed by Steven Seagal, as he leads a significant excavation in the ancient ruins near the Far Eastern China border. During his work, he inadvertently uncovers a sinister operation by the Chinese Mafia, known as the Tong, who are using his newly discovered ancient Chinese artifacts to smuggle narcotics across the border. In a desperate attempt to escape, his faithful assistant is tragically killed, and Burns is framed with the evidence by both the Chinese military and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, ultimately landing him in prison. After his eventual release, Burns seeks to enjoy his freedom back in the U.S. and leave his past behind. However, The Tong tracks him down, endangering not only his life but also that of his wife. Driven by a desire for vengeance, Burns embarks on a relentless pursuit to take down each member of The Tong.
