Animated film The Cook, mug, cook! works with the motifs of a famous Czech fairytale The Sweet Porridge. The story takes place in an old winding tin toy piggy bank in the shape of a house. Its interior is gradually filled with little characters, objects and animals which fly inside and meet regularly at certain moments or, alternatively, miss each other. They move within the empty abstract space along geometrical proportions similar to the planets of the Solar System. A complicated “dance" of activities and minor stories is created which repeats itself at regular intervals and rhythms. It is a system in which everybody has a specific place and role and is in constant motion, functioning like a mechanical watch. Ultimately, this critical point is solved by a small insignificant event that causes a chain reaction. The characters and the objects deviate from their orbits, which results in collisions and crashes and, consequently, new situations, connections, and events. Complete chaos of movement occurs, objects are multiplied, and space is constantly getting denser. Nothing can stop the mad “merry-go-round" now. The film was created in 2006 by the support of Ministry of culture and the production company Corona. Our studio was not only the maker of the film but also the producer. It was the first C.G.I. film by Jiří Barta and won the award for the best Czech short film in Anifest 2007.
