Dangerous Ground (1997) follows the journey of Vusi Madlazi, who comes back to his South African hometown after many years in exile. He left as a young man due to his involvement in anti-apartheid activities, which put his life in jeopardy. Upon his return, he reunites with his brother Ernest, who informs him that their other brother, Stephen, is missing. Vusi travels to Johannesburg to locate Stephen, initially encountering only his neighbor and girlfriend, Karin, who works as a stripper. Throughout his search, Vusi gains insight into the evolving conditions in post-apartheid South Africa, discovering that the changes have not always been beneficial for black men.
