One July, fashion illustrator Sophie Malaterre is at a loss over how to spend her summer holidays. The 25-year-old Canadian has no boyfriend, no one to go away with. Then she hears about a website switch.com, which allows people to exchange their homes for a month. Sophie is delighted when she finds an apartment in Paris with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Her first day in France surpasses her expectations. The next morning, she is awoken by policemen. It appears that in the room next to hers a headless body has been discovered.
