Le sauveur (1971) follows the story of a naive young farm girl who discovers an injured parachutist during World War II in France. Believing him to be a British officer on a covert mission against the Nazis, she tenderly cares for him until he regains his strength. However, her assumptions are only partially correct. The parachutist, portrayed by Horst Buchholz, is indeed on a clandestine mission, but his allegiance lies with a different faction. Muriel Catalá plays the unsuspecting young woman who, along with her entire village, is in for a shocking revelation about the true nature of the stranger they have taken in.
