An intense dramatic story set in a small Slovak village, Wolves’ Lairs takes place during the turbulent times of the Slovak National Uprising (1944). It tells the tragic story of a widow and her four sons, who courageously and with absolute dedication fight on the side of the Slovak partisans against the enemy, the German occupants. Thanks to its cast of leading Slovak actors as well as Palo Bielik’s experienced direction, the film remains one of the most popular films in the history of Slovak cinema to this day.
