Guillaume et les sortilèges

In July, Guillaume arrives in Paris to housesit a large apartment until the end of the summer. Lucie, the apartment’s owner, welcomes him then suddenly disappears. A kettle whistles in the kitchen of its own accord, a cupboard creaks, a delivery-man appears with dishes nobody has ordered. The house gradually starts to come alive. At first startled, Guillaume decides to take things in stride and proceeds to welcome the strangers who appear from nowhere and vanish into thin air. A man comes to his rescue, claiming his name is Pentecote. He is reassuring and friendly, but Guillaume soon realizes that he has not come simply to help him out.
