In the fall of 1893, Ernest Thompson Seton reaches New Mexico hired by farmers to kill a wolf pack. There he meets with "Wolf", an exceptional animal. The duel between the two arises change the perception that the country had Seton and wolves. Seton was born in England in 1860. At six he emigrated with his family to Canada. One of the most important events in the life of Thompson Seton occurs in 1883, when their knowledge about nature is applied in New Mexico (USA) to assist in the hunt for "Wolf", a wolf that had achieved local fame for his ability to avoid hunters and their traps, whose behavior seemed to go beyond the natural capacity of the species. Wolf learned to overcome the most elaborate traps, poisoned baits were useless, even those who were prepared to leave no human scent on them; just as they did little traps, even those strategically placed in various combinations, after analyzing his fingerprints and movements. He mocked his pursuers piling traps and leaving their droppings and urine on them, and it seemed punished, killing more cattle than needed (usually this happens with sheep, for biological reasons of both species, but not with cows ). Also, it seemed that both his pack wolves, like those of other nearby, learned their techniques. The only way to catch him was capturing his companion. This loss affected much more than one might suspect the animal finally fell into a trap that used the corpse of the wolf. Wolf spent several days trapped in the stocks before they were to find. So even he tried to attack; but instead of killing him, they tied him. Wolf stood very still, without calling their peers and without answering his calls, without eating or drinking anything that was offered until several days later, died in the same position. Seton managed to kill the animal splendid, something he would regret from that moment. The fact affected him deeply, transforming the rest of his life. Unable to resurrect Lobo
