Love at first sight if anything, so the old saying goes, saves a lot of time. And if love, let alone love at first sight, doesn't come as easily as you want it to, there's something you can do to help it along: Speed dating. It should come as no surprise, that this waste-no-time, highly efficient and organised way of getting to know somebody is rather popular in Germany and becoming a trend in German metropoles. Director Ralf Westhoff has picked up on this trend in Shoppen- a cheerfully melancholic comedy about the ins and outs of love. He follows the lives of nine men and nine women from Munich - before, during and after their speed-dates. Oh for the joys and sorrows of love. Here we have 18 singles each with their own particular relationship woes and relationship wishes, their worries and their dreams. Never before has it been so hard to find a partner for life.
