Surreal Estate (1976)

Surreal Estate (1976) follows a novelist who, while exploring real estate options, stumbles upon a vast, dilapidated mansion nestled in the woods. During his initial visit, he is guided by a peculiar young woman named Arianne, who abruptly disappears mid-tour. Intrigued by the strange encounter, the novelist sees potential for a new novel and returns to the mansion. This time, he is greeted by a maid and a different young woman named Agathe, who denies any knowledge of Arianne. The novelist notices discrepancies in the house's layout and contents, leading him to believe he is being deceived. Upon his next visit, Arianne reappears, displaying increasingly erratic behavior and showing him illusory images on the walls. She then attempts to seduce him. The maid reveals the truth: there are indeed two girls, and they have been orchestrating a scheme to entice the novelist into purchasing the house, using Arianne as a "phantom." Despite recognizing the deception, the novelist decides to buy the mansion, enticed by the prospect of having both girls. However, the girls have their own plans for him.
