The second tale revolves around a painting depicting Jacques Viger, Montreal's inaugural mayor. During a hockey game, the third story unfolds as Madeleine attempts to convey her desire for a divorce to her husband, Roger, after four decades of marriage. The fourth narrative involves a conference attendee who encounters a customs officer at the airport, where the officer takes a keepsake from each traveler. In the fifth story, Sarah, injured in a car accident, reflects on her life while being transported to the hospital in an ambulance. The final narrative takes place at a diplomatic reception, where an elderly woman reminisces about her profound love story in Montreal.
