Vienna, April 1961. The wealthy knitwear manufacturer Miriam Capell is found murdered in her bathtub. Dr. Radosch is in charge of the investigation, and his main suspects are her employee and former lover Franz Villinger, who is having a secret affair with her niece, and Dr. Melchers, a mysterious knitting-machine supplier who nobody else in the company has ever meet.
