The Siege (1998) follows the aftermath of a US military operation that results in the capture of a prominent Islamic religious figure, sparking a wave of terrorist assaults on New York City. Anthony Hubbard, the leader of the FBI's Counter-Intelligence Task Force in New York, joins forces with CIA agent Elise Kraft to track down and dismantle the terrorist networks behind the attacks. As the city is rocked by ongoing bombings, the US government takes drastic measures by imposing martial law and deploying US troops, commanded by General Devereaux, to patrol the streets of New York City.
