In the 40s, after the Spanish Civil War, many vanquished by Franco's National Republican forces found refuge in the neighbouring mountains of northern Portugal. There were those who considered them bandits, others gave shelter and helped them hiding from the police forces of Salazar. They were... the outlaws.
