A young ad executive, Sara Sherman, manoeuvres herself by questionable means into becoming the protege to the hottest ad executive on the west coast, Jennifer Campbell. Although inexperienced, Sara convinces Jennifer that she will "do whatever it takes" to get the job done for her. Quite a few of Sara's new co-workers take an immediate dislike to her and her manipulative and abrasive ways, but Jennifer stands by her. Sara holds true to her promise to Jennifer and makes sure nothing or no one stands in the way of her success. Soon several people who Jennifer had confrontations with start showing up dead and the police begin investigating. When Jennifer's marriage begins to flounder due to her excessive work schedule, she tells Sara she is quitting the agency to spend more time with her husband. A devastated and abandoned Sara decides she must again do what is necessary so Jennifer can stay at the agency - eliminate her husband. The police and Jennifer realize that Sara is behind all of the murders and head over to Jennifer's house to stop her from killing her husband. Jennifer arrives at her house too late it appears, as Sara has already killed her husband. With the sirens closing in, Jennifer turns the tables on Sara and tells her she has performed exactly as he thought she would. She did all of her dirty work -- even killing her husband - saving her a bundle in alimony. She never intended to leave the agency. She had planned this campaign just as perfectly as all of her others. She then kills Sara and it looks as if she's gotten away with everything... or did she?
