In a 15th-century feudal village, a woman is accused of witchcraft and the murder of the Count's brother. Her older daughter pleads for her mother’s life with the old Count but to no avail. The woman is burned at the stake cursing the Count and his line. Shortly afterwards the older daughter is also murdered when she is thrown off a cliff. Years pass and the woman's younger daughter, now grown to full womanhood, is forced to marry the Count’s evil and licentious son. The “witch’s” curse appears to come true and the area is ravaged by plague and pestilence. And, during a brutal thunderstorm, someone reappears and begins to avenge her death.
