The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005) follows the journey of a 63-year-old man named Mr. Lazarescu, who resides in an apartment building with his three feline companions, Nusu, Mirandolina, and Fritz. After the loss of his wife eight years prior and his daughter Bianca's relocation to Canada, Mr. Lazarescu finds himself living a solitary life. One fateful evening, he experiences a bout of dizziness, leading to a series of events that culminate in his being transported by ambulance. This marks the beginning of a bizarre and poignant journey through the healthcare system. Each medical professional he encounters offers a different diagnosis, and his urgent care is repeatedly delayed. Despite the pleas of Mr. Lazarescu and his friends, the medical staff seems indifferent to his plight, leaving the elderly man to navigate the chaotic night in Bucharest.
