De l'amour (All About Love) (2001) follows the story of Maria and Karim, a young couple deeply in love. Maria resides with her parents in a modest suburban neighborhood and is pursuing work-experience opportunities, though she is not overly optimistic about securing a permanent position. Karim, on the other hand, works in a factory and earns enough to support himself, including purchasing a new car on credit and renting a flat where Maria often visits him secretly. Their relationship remains hidden from Maria's parents. Maria's life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers she is pregnant, forcing her to confront the reality of her situation and decide how to share the news with both Karim and her parents. Her impulsive nature leads her to make decisions without fully considering the consequences, culminating in a theft from a large supermarket that lands her in custody at the local police station. Alone and facing violence, Maria's life spirals out of control.
