L'occhio di vetro (2020) follows the journey of Ferruccio, a 15-year-old boy and son of a World War I hero, as he becomes entangled in the final days of the Salò Republic. Through his personal diary, Ferruccio chronicles not only his own experiences but also the divergent paths of his older sisters, Liliana and Maria Grazia. Liliana is married to a fascist, while Maria Grazia is wed to a communist partisan. The documentary's director, Ferruccio's great-nephew, uses the diary as a guide to explore his family's complex history during this tumultuous period.
