Sin querer (1997) follows Mario, a charming young surveyor who ventures into a remote Patagonian village to organize the overland journey of a passenger ship. The locals are abuzz with anticipation, with some envisioning improved connections to the wider world and others seeing financial prospects. Mario's life becomes complicated not only by his romantic involvement with Gloria, the proprietor of a clothing shop who is married to a wealthy landowner, but also by his affair with the town's mayor. This entanglement draws him into a complex web of relationships.
