Fantomas Strikes Back (The Vengeance of Fantomas) (1965) follows the second installment of the thrilling trilogy where the notorious Fantômas abducts renowned scientist Professor Marchand to create a formidable weapon, intending to dominate the world. Fantômas also has his sights set on another brilliant mind, Professor Lefebvre. Journalist Fandor devises a clever plan, impersonating Lefebvre to attend a scientific conference in Rome, Italy, aiming to bait Fantômas into attempting another kidnapping. The strategy appears successful until Commissaire Juve intervenes, complicating matters as usual. Fantômas makes a dramatic escape using his Citroën DS, which transforms into an airplane with retractable wings, delivering one of the most surprising and spectacular scenes in the genre.
