Mariam is a young girl growing up in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Although she is quite innocent, her conservative father keeps thinking that she has relations with other boys which leads to violence leaving no other choice for Mariam but to go to court and send her father to jail. In a patriarchal society this film is the first of its genre showing violence at home and the fact that children can actually sue their parents over such matters.
