The Psychic (1991) follows Patrick Costello, a college student who shares an apartment with his childhood friend Nick and harbors feelings for his professor, Laurel Young. Patrick has been experiencing premonitions through dreams and daydreams since childhood, and recently, he has been foreseeing the deaths of young women. After successfully dating Laurel, Patrick discovers that she is also involved with her friend and fellow professor, Theodore "Ted" Steering, who is secretly a serial killer wanted by the police. Patrick's mission to gather evidence to prove Steering's guilt and protect Laurel becomes an uphill battle as no one believes his claims. When Steering invites Laurel on a trip to another town, Patrick's premonitions intensify, warning him that Laurel could be Steering's next victim. Patrick must find a way to save Laurel from the impending danger.
