Dancer (1991) follows the story of Malti, who is unjustly imprisoned for a crime she did not commit, leaving her young son, Raju, to fend for himself. The wealthy and corrupt businessman, Rai Bahadur Brijbhushan Sharma, orchestrates her downfall. Raju is taken in by Radha and her brother, Dattu, who nurture him and help him rise to fame as a popular star. Years later, after Malti's release from prison, she learns that her son, now known as Raja, has fallen in love with Sharma's daughter, Priya. Malti sees this as a chance to exact revenge on Sharma and confront her past.
