Returning to the town of Ridgewood was meant to be a new start for Kate Ryder (AMY JO JOHNSON – Hard Ground, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers) and her young son, Sam, after the tragic death of her husband a year earlier. With the help of her sister Jess (CAROL ALT – Catch Me If You Can), Kate settles into small town life, finding herself a job with the handsome Dr. Mark Lucas (DAVID HAYDN-JONES – Wait Means Never). Lucas is the epitome of charm and Kate feels welcome in her new job, despite the vicious rumours that local cab driver Harry spreads about him. Dismissing Harry as an old drunk, Kate continues to rebuild her life with the help of her childhood sweetheart Tom, the local fireman (PAUL POPOWICH – Vlad). But it’s not long before Kate starts to notice that a number of Lucas’s patients have all died suddenly from heart attacks, without anyone raising an eyebrow. It would seem the doctor isn’t the saint he is made out to be. Late one night, alone in the surgery, he concocts a poison that he’ll later administer to one of his patients. But this isn’t any poison – it’s the venom from a black cobra. Driving to work one day Kate sees Harry’s cab career off the road. Within minutes the emergency services arrive at the scene. Kate looks on as Lucas gives Harry an injection – but it’s not pain relief. With the life seeping out of Harry’s body, Kate is now convinced that Lucas is a murderer. But the doctor is on to Kate and will stop at nothing to keep his secret from being revealed, taking her son hostage. Kate knows that the only way to save her son and the residents of Ridgewood is to put a stop to this once and for all. But can Kate catch up with the poisonous doctor before he strikes again?
