Cornbread, Earl and Me

Nathaniel 'Cornbread' Hamilton is the only young man in his neighborhood who can hope to get out of the ghetto. He is about to leave for college on a basketball scholarship. On a dark rainy evening, Cornbread is mistaken for a gunman who assaulted and shot a woman. The cops open fire, and Cornbread falls dead. Now Cornbread's family must fight against the city to clear their son's name.
