Mabata Bata

Azarías is a young orphan who takes care of cattle, and Mabata Bata is one of the herds of flock. The oxen must be fattened for the "lobolo", the traditional dot that Raul, the uncle of Azarias, must deliver to marry. Azarías only dreams of being like the other children of the town and going to school, and her grandmother gives her support.
