Héroes en el Congo

‘Héroes en el Congo’ accompanies the film’s protagonists into a very dangerous territory in eastern Congo. Mama María is an inspiration for all of them. She is Sister Presentación López from Burgos, a nun of the Order of Saint Joseph of Gerona who carried out her humanitarian work in Rubare until October 2008, when she lost her legs during a bombing by Tutsi rebels of the house where she lived with other nuns. Sister Presentación decided to continue working to improve the living conditions of those people, and the Rubare Project NGO was thus born. With Mama Maria as a major inspiration, the film describes all the projects carried out by the main characters in this documentary so as to improve the lives of the Congolese people.
