Side Out (1990) follows the journey of a dedicated Midwestern law student who travels to California with aspirations of summer employment. However, his plans take an unexpected turn as he finds himself captivated by the allure of the beach and the pursuit of local waitresses. Along the way, he crosses paths with a former beach volleyball champion who has seen better days. In a surprising twist, the novice player not only competes but triumphs in the most prestigious tournament of the year, securing his victory in just his second competitive event.
