The 7th Dawn (1964) follows the journey of three former allies who fought together against the Japanese in Malaya during World War II, only to find themselves on opposing sides during the subsequent Communist insurgency. Major Ferris (William Holden), now a successful rubber plantation owner, is entangled in a love triangle with the enchanting Dhana (Capucine). Meanwhile, Ng (Tetsuro Tamba) returns from Moscow, more fervent in his revolutionary beliefs, causing Dhana to be torn between her loyalties. Ferris attempts to stay neutral, but his life becomes increasingly complicated when Dhana is arrested and sentenced to death for alleged collaboration with the guerrillas. The situation further escalates when Candace Trumpey (Susannah York), the daughter of the British Resident, is captured by Ng, who threatens to kill her if Dhana's sentence is executed.
