Pervertida (1946) tells the tale of Elena, a young woman from the provinces who, due to a series of unfortunate events, finds herself trapped in a life of prostitution upon arriving in Mexico City. Her journey takes a turn when she is reunited with her true love, Fernando, a musician who has returned to search for her. However, their love is threatened by the presence of Esmeralda, a rival known as a rumbera, forcing Elena to fight for her love.
