The film, directed by Servais, returns to the stark, monochromatic visual style seen in "Goldframe" and "Operation X-70," but introduces digital post-processing for the first time. Atraksion (S) (2001) adapts the myth of Icarus into a contemporary allegory for self-imprisonment, a theme also explored in the mythological "Pegasus."
