Gaspard the Good (Lon Chaney) is a simple miner and fur trapper whose happiness is destroyed when his rival Benson (Alan Hale) steals both his mine and his girl Thalie (Dagmar Godowsky). Gaspard becomes obsessed with revenge and, seven years later, he plans a trap for Benson.
