Valter, a resident in a small town, hides a secret that prevents him from integrating with his community. The days pass and he breeds pigs and sings in the church choir but neither of these two activities serve to alleviate his loneliness. When he finally tries to establish a closer relationship with Aija, a fellow choir member, his masculine pretenses take a strange turn.
