Hunting the Lion with Bow and Arrow

Director Jean Rouch follows bow hunters in West Africa as they track down lions in this informative documentary. The hunters prepare arrows, poison, and the traps that will catch the king of the beasts before the kill. Before the animal is skinned and eaten, Natives exorcise the soul of the lion. As with any cultural group of hunters, stories of previous hunts and tall tales abound.
