One afternoon in August 1996, at the house in Ventotene where journalist Sandro Molino was spending his vacations, his partner Cecilia revealed to him that she was pregnant. Today Altiero Molino is a twenty-six-year-old digital entrepreneur and returns to Ventotene with his photo model husband to gather old friends around his ailing father, to give him a last vacation in that place so dear to him. She did not expect to find the island in turmoil on the occasion of Sabry Mazzalupi's wedding to her fiancé Cesare: the clumsy girl, daughter of the Roman merchant Ruggero, has become a digital media celebrity and her wedding is a social event that attracts media and also mysterious emissaries of the new political power.
